Principal & Dancing Queen
Karen has the experience, intensity and focus of a big city ad professional, and prides herself on having the flexibility, responsiveness and moxie that comes from building a locally-grown business. She cut her marketing teeth in Atlanta and New York before returning to Salinas—the place she always considered home. Karen is a leader and trend spotter, and has a knack for bringing people together and ideas to life.
Karen loves a good mojito, Fleetwood Mac and exploring the great outdoors—as long as there are no bears or sharks in sight. She loves to cook, especially Italian cuisine, and knows meals are most enjoyed when shared with family, friends and plenty of wine. Having danced since a young age, be sure to make lots of room for Karen on the dance floor—she’s definitely known to bust a move.
Principal & Directeur Sportif
A true marketing guru, Terry has done it all. From owning a marketing agency whose clients ranged from small businesses to major corporations, to leading non-profit associations, to heading local operations for a major media company—it’s safe to say Terry brings well rounded experience to our clients. There aren’t many people who can be described as intense, focused and laid back, but the shoe, or flip-flop, fits Terry.
It’s been a while since his first jobs as an ice cream maker and diver for sea urchins, but he still enjoys that sweet, laid back, Jimmy Buffet lifestyle. When not working hard, Terry can be found playing hard, speeding down the Laguna Seca corkscrew on his trike, whale watching from his kayak, or searching for Big Horn Sheep in Death Valley. He doesn’t drink margaritas, eat cheeseburgers or have a pencil thin mustache, but yes, he is a pirate and dreams of that one particular harbor.
Client Services & Yoga Lover
With more than 16 years’ experience in newspaper, digital advertising, sales training and management, Dana has the knowledge to help clients identify and achieve their marketing goals. She excels at strategic planning and solving problems and ensures projects stay on deadline and teammates stay on track. Plus, thanks to her first job at Grandma Buffalo’s Chips, Dana can bake a mean cookie. And who doesn’t like that?
When not developing genius marketing strategies, Dana can be found relaxing with Bikram yoga, chillin’ at a Kenny Chesney concert or enjoying a plate of chile verde (with extra sour cream of course). She has two great kids, Stepfanie and Shea, and an adorable grandson, Brayden. Someday she plans to sail into the Caribbean sunset alongside her significant other, Todd, with an ice cold Corona Light in hand.
Design & Production Manager & Baseball Fanatic
Bryan joined the graphic design industry in 1994 and is an expert in print production, website development, logo, magazine and website design. Whether it’s a full magazine layout or complete website overhaul, Bryan is guaranteed to “knock it out of the park” with results―not only because he’s great at his job but because he’s a huge baseball fan and enjoys the metaphor.
When Bryan’s not “batting a thousand” for our clients, he enjoys hanging out with his wife, Jessica, and their children, Penelope and Griffin. He loves sweet tea (with an admittedly unhealthy amount of sugar) and rocks a classic pair of Chuck Taylors. Bryan has visited 6 out of 30 Major League Baseball parks and is determined to cross the remaining 24 off his list. His son is named after future Hall of Famer Ken Griffy Jr., so yea, he’s kind of a baseball fan.
Associate & Cruise Director
With over (she won’t let us tell you how many) years of expertise, Vickie is experienced in all facets of marketing including planning, print design, website development, advertising and event planning. Having worked with a diverse clientele, she understands there are no “cookie cutter” solutions. Her outgoing personality and educated professional opinion are what keep Vickie’s client list steady and growing.
Known as “Masha” by her grandchildren, Vickie is a firm believer that negative thoughts are far more likely to come true when spoken. Pina Coladas, Christmas and Costco all put a smile on her face, and she loves going for rides on her husband’s motorcycle. Someday she plans to travel on the “Star Alliance Around the World 39,000 mile adventure” and hopes to eventually learn to sing something (well) other than “These Boots are Made for Walking.”
Design Associate & Surf Queen
With nearly 20 years of graphic design experience working for a variety of clients from mountain climbing companies to luxury watch and jewelry retailers, Belinda knows how to cater her designs to each specific client need. You name it, Belinda can design it (and probably has a concept or two in mind already). Moxxy teams up with Belinda on a variety of projects to produce outstanding and unique work for our clients.
In her down time, Belinda can be found doing one of two things: surfing or looking for surf. In the slight chance Belinda isn’t surfing or looking for surf, she’s most likely hanging out with her Briar Kitty or enjoying a fine game of chess. It’s impossible to kill Belinda’s positive vibes―especially when indulging in her favorite “spa-tini” made from mint, cucumber, gin, Hypnotic and lime juice.
Media Consultant & Derby Girl
They say when you want something done, give it to a busy person. Currently holding two full time jobs, Kimbley is both a contracted media buyer for a few Moxxy clients and a local Salinas City Councilwoman. Kimbley’s expert knowledge of local, regional and national media allows clients to maximize their budget by reaching their key audience. She’s had nearly 15 years of television, radio, print and internet experience, both in media industry and advertising agencies.
In her spare time (ha!) Kimbley sits in an elected capacity for our hometown of Salinas. Her district is North Salinas and she represents a business voice on city council. Understanding it’s important not to take yourself too seriously, she’s also a roller derby girl. Kimbley skates for the Monterey Bay Derby Dames under the derby name “Mis Manners.”
Receptionist & Fry Thief
Our bird-brained receptionist and security officer, Haley can be found spending HIS time watching over the Moxxy flock from his perch (which conveniently has wheels) and using his large beak to intimidate possible intruders and anyone with small fingers. Peanuts, tortilla chips and French fries are the way to his heart and he enjoys greeting office visitors with a hearty “Hello!”
